Reflexology
Reflexology, a 4000-year-old healing art from China, India, and Egypt, is based on the concept that the body has energy zones and reflex areas in the hands and feet mirroring all organs and systems. Through specific hand techniques on these areas, it initiates and accelerates natural healing.
Reflexologists use anatomical knowledge and hand skills to restore overall health and balance, not just treat disease symptoms.
Reflexology may have many benefits:
- Induces deep relaxation and reduces stress
- Increases energy levels
- Boosts the immune system
- Improves blood and lymphatic circulation helping to eliminate toxins and impurities
- Provides an improved sense of well-being
Reflexology may help a wide range of acute and chronic conditions:
- Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary and Neurological disorders
- Muscle and Skeletal disorders (back, neck, shoulder, knee and hip problems)
- Hormonal imbalances, Menstrual disorders, PMS
- Headaches and migraines
- Stress related conditions
FAQs
Who can benefit from reflexology?
This gentle and safe therapy is suitable for all ages. It can be used from infancy to old age; the experienced and trained reflexologist will know how to adapt the treatment to different ages and circumstances.
What happens during a reflexology session?
The first reflexology session lasts about one hour and fifteen minutes. On this visit I will ask you about your past and present health and lifestyle. I shall then work on your feet and lower legs with different techniques in order to affect changes in the corresponding areas of the body. Through my work I can detect the areas that are imbalanced, and will give emphasis to those to help bring the person to a more balanced state.
As I am a Nutritional Therapist at the end of the session if necessary I can make some nutritional recommendations to help you with your healing processes. I have knowledge in different areas that can affect the state of health and wellbeing so I can make recommendations in other areas as well.
The treatment can also be carried out on hands; the zones running through the feet have corresponding zones in the hands.
A course of treatment may be recommended depending on your state of health and your needs.
The follow up treatment sessions will last one hour.
Reflexology may help to maintain a balanced state of the whole person. With regular sessions I believe it can be used as a form of preventative medicine.
Reflexology is a wonderful way of relaxing and keeping healthy.
